TUESDAY TIP – BREAKFAST
11.06.2019
Breakfast kick-starts your metabolism, helping you burn calories throughout the day. It also gives you the energy you need to get things done and helps you focus.
A healthy breakfast should provide calories in the range of 20-35% of your daily calories consumed. Apart from providing us with energy, breakfast foods are good sources of important nutrients such as calcium, iron and B vitamins as well as protein and fibre.
If you skip breakfast, you are more likely to reach for high sugar and fatty snacks mid-morning.
Try these ideas for healthy, quick breakfasts …
- Oats with berries, low-fat milk, and a dash honey
- A breakfast smoothie – berries and yoghurt or peanut butter and banana
- Eggs, mushrooms, and avocado on multigrain toast
